RESIDENTS of Jasmine Towers in Jalan SS2/72, Petaling Jaya are worried
about the safety of their apartments. In 1999, soil erosion at the Sungai
Penchala riverbank sank part of the building's walkway. Developer Muda
Bahagia Sdn Bhd repaired the damage.
Nothing done by developer to repair leaks at apartment

THE leaks from the balcony ceiling and the two bathrooms in her
apartment were reported to the developer three months ago but, nothing has
been done to rectify the problems. MAY says she lodged a complaint with
the developer on Dec 12, using the official complaint form.

Developers call for suspension of levy

PROPERTY developers are urging the Government to suspend the 0.25 per cent
levy imposed on construction projects to help ease the industry's
financial burden following a nine-month labour shortage. The Real Estate
and Housing Developers' Association (Rehda) also seeks to utilise some of
the levy already collected by the Construction Industry Development Board
(CIDB) to reimburse the industry for losses accrued by late delivery
charges it blamed on the labour crisis.

it," he proudly exclaimed to his wife while waving a cheque in her face.
It was a booking deposit for his house which he finally managed to sell
for RM300,000. Never mind if the cheque was only for RM1,000. Ronald knew
he should have asked for the standard deposit of two per cent of the
purchase price, or RM6,000 in his case. But never mind, he told himself,
the intending buyer had promised to pay the balance later that evening.

of the low-cost houses in Taman Sungai Besi Indah, near Balakong, are once
again urging the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) to work fast, since
it has been a decade's wait for their CFs. The 102 house-owners have paid
RM25,000 per house when they bought their properties from developer Bumi
Kelang back then.
