1. Strata titles for Wayton Court buyers after nine years 01/07/2002 The Star
   After a nine-year wait, purchasers of the 432 units of Taman Paya Terubong Phase 1 (Wayton Court) will finally receive their strata titles – thanks to their residents association. Association chairman Lim Beng Poh said yesterday the titles, which were released last month, were now in the hands of an official assignee.

2. Selayang Flats tenants upset over stalls in parking bays 02/07/2002 NST-CITY
   MORE than 160 families at Selayang Flats, off Jalan Raja Laut, are upset over the developer's decision to allow "outsiders" to operate businesses at their premises. Chairman of Selayang Flats Management corporation Wong Eng Han said one of the tenants, a sundry store operator, had renovated two of the 10 parking bays meant for residents and was now letting out another unit to a mamak stall owner.

3. Desticom gets deal to revive housing projects 02/07/2002 MM
   LITTLE-known Desticom Sdn Bhd has been assigned to revive housing projects abandoned by developers during the economic slowdown of 1997, government sources said yesterday. The company has so far secured an initial RM200 million contract to complete the projects, and more contracts are expected. The company is now expected to revive projects comprising low-cost and low-medium houses as well as shophouses, the source told Mail Money yesterday.

4. Kajang residents get CF after 10-year wait 03/07/2002 NST-CITY
   AFTER a 10-year wait, 1,040 house owners in Taman Jasmin, Jalan Semenyih, Kajang finally got their Certificates Of Fitness. Taman Jasmin Residents Association president Mohd Zaid Hussein said the CFs were issued by the Kajang Municipal Council on April 5 and received by the association recently.

   PUCHONG 2 Julai – Penduduk Taman Puchong Intan meminta pemaju perumahan kawasan itu dan Majlis Perbandraran Subang Jaya (MPSJ) bertindak segera untuk memastikan Sijil Layak Menduduki (CF) ditunggu sejak lima tahun lalu dikeluarkan.Ahli Parlimen Kawasan Serdang, Datuk Yap Pian Hon berkata, kelewatan pengeluaran CF kepada kira-kira 980 pemilik rumah di fasa kedua dan ketiga taman berkenaan tidak akan wujud jika kedua-dua pihak tersebut bertindak segera untuk menyelesaikan perkara itu.

6. Call to look into plight of unfortunate house buyers 04/07/2002 NST
   THE State's special committee for reviving abandoned housing projects was yesterday urged to solve the problems faced by buyers of half-completed apartments at Skudai Villa Apartments and shoplot owners at the Skudai Plaza. Khoo Kong Ek (BN-Skudai) said construction of the Skudai Villa Apartments, which started in 1996, was halted a year later when the developer was declared bankrupt.

8. Taskforce set up for revival of RM270m project 05/07/2002 The Star
   A special taskforce has been set up to monitor and expedite the revival of the RM270mil Bayan World Mega-mall project which was stalled since 1998, a statement from the Chief Minister’s office said. Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon had last month initiated the taskforce comprising representatives of the developer Bayan Bay Development Sdn Bhd (BBDSB), Penang Development Corporation (PDC) and the purchasers.

   Another abandoned housing project, Seri Semarak in Bandar Baru Air Itam, has been added to the “headaches” of Paya Terubong assemblyman Dr Loh Hock Hun. He said Seri Semarak, consisting of 1,306 units of low and medium cost flats, was the third abandoned project after Majestic Heights and Taman Cemerlang in his constituency.

    BUYERS of properties from the secondary market have been asked to check if there are any unpaid assessment arrears with their relevant local councils to avoid being fined and saddled with its payment. To avoid the unpleasant situation of asking the previous owner for reimbursement, new owners are advised to declare their purchases to the local councils. The Shah Alam City Council has in fact advised purchasers to check with it before signing the sale and purchase agreement (SPA) for the property.

    The stalled Taman Widuri Housing Project action committee wants the authorities to officially declare the project in Sungai Duri abandoned. Its chairman Lionell L. Joeshua said banks would continue making progress payment to the developer because there is no official declaration that the project is abandoned.

    THE Housing and Local Government Ministry has written to the Attorney General's Chambers for a list of names of persons to sit on the Tribunal for Homebuyers Claims. The ministry's secretary-general Datuk Lokman Hakim Mohd Jasan said that once a suitable person is selected to head the tribunal, the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) (Amendment) Act 2002, gazetted on January 31 2002, will come into force.

Mengikut perjanjian jual beli di antara syarikat berkenaan dengan pembeli, rumah terbabit siap dalam tempoh 24 bulan (2 tahun) dan sepatutnya pembeli sudah boleh menduduki.

20. Restraint from filing petition 27/07/2002  BT
    A HOUSE buyer has served a winding-up petition on Lembah Beringin Sdn Bhd but the Land & General Bhd subsidiary is scheduled for a hearing on its application to restrain him from filing the petition. L&G said it had applied for the injunction on June 11, and the hearing will be held on August 13. It said the buyer won his case last year, and got an order for Lembah Beringin to refund roughly RM280,000 that he had paid. L&G said it had invested RM16.1 million in Lembah Beringin and the expected loss from the winding-up proceedings is insignificant.

    HULU KLANG: Pembeli pangsapuri Blok B Estana Court, di sini kecewa dengan pemaju kerana gagal menyiapkan rumah mereka selepas tergangguh lebih dua tahun. Lebih mengecewakan pembeli pangsapuri berkenaan terpaksa membayar faedah bagi pinjaman perumahan kepada institusi kewangan.

    SAYA membeli sebuah rumah di Bandar Puncak Alam Fasa 2 pada Mac 1998. Sebenarnya saya adalah mangsa rumah retak yang sepatutnya siap pada Mac 2000. Memandangkan masalah terbabit, kami diberitahu yang ia akan diruntuhkan dan dibina semula, seterusnya dijangka siap Mac 2002. Bagaimanapun selepas itu kami langsung tidak mendapat apa-apa laporan kemajuan sehingga saya melawat sendiri ke tapak projek pada Januari 2002 dan mendapati tapak terbabit baru sahaja diratakan

    RAWANG: Keretakan pada beberapa rumah teres dua tingkat di Taman Rawang Perdana 2, di sini, terus berlaku, malah makin serius hingga merisaukan penghuninya, walaupun usaha membaik pulih dibuat pihak pemaju. Berikutan itu, ada pembeli rumah terbabit keberatan untuk terus tinggal di situ dengan segelintir mereka langsung tidak mendudukinya, kerana terlalu kecewa dan khuatir mengenai keselamatan.
