Strata titles for Wayton Court buyers

the 432 units of Taman Paya Terubong
Phase 1 (Wayton Court) will finally
receive their strata titles – thanks to
their residents association. Association
chairman Lim Beng Poh said yesterday the
titles, which were released last month,
were now in the hands of an official
assignee.

Desticom gets deal to revive housing projects

assigned to revive housing projects
abandoned by developers during the
economic slowdown of 1997, government
sources said yesterday. The company has
so far secured an initial RM200 million
contract to complete the projects, and
more contracts are expected. The company
is now expected to revive projects
comprising low-cost and low-medium
houses as well as shophouses, the source
told Mail Money yesterday.

THE State's special committee for reviving abandoned housing projects was yesterday urged to solve the problems faced by buyers of half-completed apartments at Skudai Villa Apartments and shoplot owners at the Skudai Plaza. Khoo Kong Ek (BN-Skudai) said construction of the Skudai Villa Apartments, which started in 1996, was halted a year later when the developer was declared bankrupt.

Bayan World Mega-mall project which was stalled
since 1998, a statement from the Chief Minister’s
office said. Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon
had last month initiated the taskforce comprising
representatives of the developer Bayan Bay
Development Sdn Bhd (BBDSB), Penang Development
Corporation (PDC) and the purchasers.

Terubong assemblyman Dr Loh Hock Hun. He said Seri Semarak,

Cemerlang in his constituency.

messed up the switches. Thus, when we switched on the front light, the upstairs light was turned on, etc. And now with the

A HOUSE buyer has served a winding-up petition on Lembah
Beringin Sdn Bhd but the Land & General Bhd subsidiary is scheduled for a hearing on its application to restrain him from filing
the petition. L&G said it had applied for the injunction on June 11, and the hearing will be held on August 13. It said the buyer
won his case last year, and got an order for Lembah Beringin to refund roughly RM280,000 that he had paid. L&G said it had
invested RM16.1 million in Lembah Beringin and the expected loss from the winding-up proceedings is insignificant.

masalah terbabit, kami diberitahu yang ia akan diruntuhkan dan dibina semula, seterusnya dijangka siap Mac 2002. Bagaimanapun
selepas itu kami langsung tidak mendapat apa-apa laporan kemajuan sehingga saya melawat sendiri ke tapak projek pada Januari 2002
dan mendapati tapak terbabit baru sahaja diratakan

dibuat pihak pemaju. Berikutan itu, ada pembeli rumah terbabit keberatan untuk terus tinggal di situ dengan segelintir mereka
langsung tidak mendudukinya, kerana terlalu kecewa dan khuatir mengenai keselamatan.
