After a nine-year wait, purchasers of the 432 units of Taman Paya
Terubong Phase 1 (Wayton Court) will finally receive their strata
titles – thanks to their residents association.
Association chairman Lim Beng Poh said yesterday the titles,
which were released last month, were now in the hands of an official
assignee.
“This is the first time in the state that a residents association
has managed to obtain its strata title for its property without
going through the developer,” he told newsmen after the launching of
a health camp by Paya Terubong assemblyman Dr Loh Hock Hun.
He added that for the lawyer to hand over the titles to the
owners, residents must give a copy of their sales and purchase
agreement, loan agreement and deed of reassignment to the
association.
The association, Lim said, would use the documents to update its
records before handing them over to the lawyer.
Lim also said that the purchasers must ensure that their
maintenance fees, quit rent and other fees owed to the management
company were paid.
He said other residents’ associations interested to know how the
association managed to get the title could contact him (Lim) at
019-4132318.
Earlier in his speech, Dr Loh, who is also state Trade, Commerce
and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman, praised the organiser for
holding the event.
“Aside from helping the less fortunate, the camp can also get the
people together,” he said.
Jointly organised by the Malaysian Hindu Sanggam and the
Rokkumalai Sri Muniswarar Bathrakaliamman God Followers Association,
the one-day camp had exhibitions on organ donation, health checks
and family counselling.
