PUCHONG 30 Sept. - Bagi penduduk di beberapa fasa Taman Puncak Jalil, tiada
perkara yang lebih menggembirakan menjelang Aidilfitri ini selain daripada
mendapat bekalan air secara sah. Setelah sekian lama menanti, penduduk di
Fasa 9D, 9E, 7E, 7D, 9F dan 18 akhirnya mendapat bekalan itu setelah
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn. Bhd. (Syabas) memasang meter air di
kediaman mereka baru-baru ini.

AGM to form
condominium’s management corporation illegal

RESIDENTS of Palm Spring@Damansara in Petaling Jaya have foiled an attempt
by the developer to set up the condominium’s management corporation (MC).
Under the Strata Titles Act, a developer is required to submit strata title
applications for at least 25% of the total number of condominium units
before calling for an annual general meeting (AGM) to form an MC.

MALACCA: The state is in the process of obtaining a court order to seize the
Pulau Melaka project from the company which had been appointed to revive the
stalled billion-ringgit reclamation project. State housing, rural
development and project revival committee chairman Datuk Ghafar Atan said
legal proceedings had been initiated against the company as it had failed to
settle its premium payments.

to collect data from a Marina Bay luxury condominium resident, following
his appeal that it be run by a joint mangement body (JMB). The committee
would be headed by Penang Town and Country Planning and Housing Committee
chairman Wong Hon Wai.

and is managed by the developer. Yeoh said a JMB should be formed to allow
residents to jointly manage the place with the developer until the strata
titles were obtained. “I’ve spoken to the new MPSJ Commissioner of
Buildings (CoB) director Tee Siew Bee on this too,” she said. Tee, when
contacted, said she was new to the MPSJ CoB unit and had not been able to
look through cases thoroughly yet.

Panel to study case over formation of JMB

PENANG is mulling over a landmark case involving the formation of Joint
Management Bodies in leasehold properties. A special committee has been
formed to look into the issue after the state received an appeal to a
Commissioner of Buildings’ (COB) decision from residents of a condominium
in Tanjung Tokong. “A request from the Marina Bay condominium residents to
form a Joint Management Body (JMB) was rejected by the COB in June after
which, they appealed against the decision to the state.

Injunction on EGM over Amcorp

OWNERS and tenants of the Amcorp Trade Centre who had been frustrated with
their present Joint Management Committee (JMC) were prevented from holding
an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) here recently by a court injunction.
This was despite the fact that the owners and tenants had received a notice
from Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Commissioner of Buildings Datuk
Mohamad Roslan Sakiman to hold the EGM.

What was supposed to be a simple elevator problem turned into more than what
the residents of Taman Sentul Utama on Jalan Dato Senu 26 expected. While
investigating with the Social Security Organisation in Block 211 in January,
residents found the elevator could be fixed for RM12,000, an amount that was
deemed affordable. They pooled their resources to make their living quarters
a better place for everyone.
