A TOTAL of 16,482 strata titles have been issued by
the various Land and Mines Department offices up to October 1 this year. Land and Cooperative Development Ministry Deputy
Secretary-General Dr Nik Mohamed Zain Haji Nik Yusof, said that of the total, 9,684 titles were for the Federal Territory, 2,198
for Penang, 2,831 for Johor and the reminder for the rest of Peninsular Malaysia except Perlis which did not submit any
applications.

projects in Perak. State Industry and Public Corporations Committee chairman Datuk Haji Junus Wahid said usually, such a condition

PENGUMUMAN
Menteri Kewangan, Datuk Seri Anwar
Ibrahim, mengenai had maksimum baru
mengeluarkan caruman Kumpulan Wang
Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) bagi pembelian
rumah, melegakan pencarum, khususnya
mereka yang memang sedang merancang
membeli rumah. Kenaikan had maksimum
sebanyak 100 peratus bagi pembelian
rumah kos sederhana dan tinggi serta
penarikan balik larangan mengeluarkan 10
peratus caruman bagi yang mendapat
pinjaman 100 peratus untuk pembelian
rumah kos rendah, berkuatkuasa 1 Januari
depan, bermakna kuasa membeli rumah
semakin meningkat. Kalau sekarang
pencarum hanya boleh mengeluarkan tidak
melebihi $20,000 tetapi mulai bulan
depan, had berkenaan dinaikkan sehingga
$40,000. Ini bermakna, pencarum boleh
menggunakan lebih banyak simpanan dalam
KWSP dan mengurangkan pinjaman pembelian
rumah. Ini secara langsung mengurangkan
beban pencarum untuk membuat bayaran
bulanan. Dengan itu, pencarum kini
mempunyai pilihan untuk membeli rumah
yang lebih selesa kerana boleh
mengeluarkan lebih banyak caruman untuk
membuat bayaran pendahuluan pembelian
rumah kos sederhana atau tinggi. Had
maksimum sebelum ini, iaitu $20,000
tidak banyak membantu pencarum, tambahan
pula pembeli rumah umumnya berumur dalam
lingkungan 30-an. Dengan kata lain,
tempoh bayaran balik pinjaman agak
pendek dan sudah pasti bayaran
bulanannya tinggi. Mengambil kira
keadaan ini dan jangkaan harga hartanah
akan terus meningkat pada masa akan
datang, kita berpendapat keputusan
kerajaan menaikkan had maksimum
berkenaan adalah wajar dan kena pada
masanya. Kenaikan itu menggambarkan
kepekaan kerajaan terhadap masalah
rakyat untuk memiliki rumah sendiri.
