SEREMBAN, Selasa - Empat belas projek perumahan
terbengkalai di negeri ini mendapat bantuan $43.6 juta daripada Tabung Pemulihan Projek Terbengkalai (TPPT) menerusi Bank Negara.
Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Haji Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, berkata semua projek itu mempunyai 2,203 unit rumah kos rendah.

PUBLIC Finance has appointed Mr Kenneth
Teh Ah Kiam of Price Waterhouse as
receiver and manager of Desa Puchong, a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Imatex, on
August 30 under powers contained in two
debenture deeds both dated October 17
1988. This appointment is in accordance
with the requirements of the Abandoned
Housing Projects Fund (AHPF) so that the
financial assistance could be effected
for the revival of the Taman Sri Puchong
housing project, Imatex said in a
statement yesterday. Desa Puchong's
receivership and the assistance from
AHPF are part of the Imatex group
restructuring scheme announced last
February. The debts owing to Public
Finance and other consortium lender to
which the debentures relate, are to be
fully settled by way of issue of new
shares in Newco under new scheme.

Anwar Ibrahim said yesterday. He also announced that the Entrepreneur Rehabilitation Fund (ERF) panel has so far approved $544.86
million in loans involving 379 applications.
Govt studying one-stop
housing projects agency

THE Government is studying the
possibility of setting up a one-stop
agency to handle matters relating to
housing development projects in a move
to reduce red tape. Housing and Local
Government Minister Dr Ting Chew Peh
said in Kuala Lumpur yesterday the
Government acknowledges that at present
developers face a long waiting period as
they have to deal with 10 ministries and
23 government departments before their
projects can get off the ground.

subsidies for low-cost projects when the
standard layout design is implemented.
"The six to nine-month expected cut in
approval time would obviously mean a
lowering of the subsidy burden which
developers of low-cost houses had to

Allegations baseless

allegations by house buyers are
baseless. "We use fine sand and washed
fine sand in our project and not as

Taman Putra developer `not liable'

Taman Putra damaged by erosion says it
has not given any undertaking to the
State Government to build replacement
