GOPENG, Tues. - All development projects under the Housing and Local Government
Ministry which are inactive or abandoned will be cancelled and the funds transferred
to more deserving projects. Minister Datuk Dr Ting Chew Peh said today the
Ministry's officers had been told to visit all its projects to ensure that
they proceeded smoothly before the end of the Seventh Malaysia Plan. A total
of RM781 million had been allocated for the 2,116 development projects under
the plan, but to date only 647 had been completed, he said.
