KUALA LUMPUR, Thurs. - The Government may extend the period for the completion of houses from the present 18 months to up to 24 months to ensure the keys and certificates of fitness (CFs) are distributed to buyers simultaneously. Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Osu Haji Sukam said the actual period of extension would be decided at a meeting between the Ministry and the Housing Developers Association (HDA) next week.

DEVELOPERS in the Klang Valley may be forced to abandon their condominium projects shortly because of the uncertainty in the market arising from the narrow interpretation and strict enforcement of the 1974 Foreign Investment Committee (FIC) guidelines.
