Prepare guide, govt told
            01/09/1992 MM
THE Selangor Government will be asked to prepare guidelines for
developers undertaking projects in the State. Each of the nine
districts in the State will also be asked to set up a consultative
body to identify sites in their respective areas for housing and
            industrial projects.
      House buyers
            searching for developer
            01/09/1992 NST-CITYX By Peter Chan
THIRTY-EIGHT house buyers are up in arms against the developer of
Taman Syukor in Bercham, Ipoh, for failing to deliver their houses
for more than a year. The houses were to have been delivered two
years ago. The developer not only failed to meet the deadline but
work on the project has stopped completely.

            Sinking fund for condos

            02/09/1992 MM
THE problem of collecting maintenance fees from highrise dwellers
could be solved by creating a sinking fund built into the purchase
price. This was the suggestion by the Institution of Surveyors
Malaysia (ISM) in commenting on a recent proposal by the Housing and
Local Government Ministry to have local authorities collect such
            fees.

Stringent rules needed for sales brochures

            03/09/1992 NST
ON AUG 13 and 20, we commented on the problems faced by unsuspecting
condominium buyers who discover, much too late, that all that
glitters is not gold as far as their condominium development is
concerned. In particular, the facilities and amenities as promised
in the brochures for the condominium development are just promises.
Confusion over names of two housing
              estates
              04/09/1992 NST-CITYX
HOUSE owners in two new housing estates being developed off Jalan
Puchong may be more than 10km away from each other, but they are
much closer neighbours than they ever intended to be. At first
glance, both estates now nearing completion appear to share the
              same name - Puchong Indah

Rumah kos rendah dijangka naik harga
            06/09/1992 BM
KUALA LUMPUR: Harga rumah kos rendah mungkin naik, tetapi kerajaan
memberi jaminan bahawa kajian menyeluruh, termasuk mengenai harga,
rendah membeli rumah. Menteri Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan, Datuk
Dr Ting Chew Peh, berkata Jabatan Perumahan Negara
dipertanggungjawab menyiapkan kajian membabitkan semua aspek
			`Build-and-sell concept not viable'
            08/09/1992 NST
THE proposed build-and-sell concept to prevent housing projects from
being abandoned will burden the developer financially and the end
result would be higher selling prices, according to a banker.
Perwira Habib Bank Malaysia Bhd's assistant general manager Encik
Mohd Radzil Mohd Yunus, said the cost of development would be more
as the developer would have to rely on full financing throughout.

Long wait for

            * HANAFIAH is impatiently waiting for compensation due to him
because the house he bought at Bandar Baru Sungai Buluh did not
comply with the approved plan. Among the irregularities he detected
were the fact that steel fences were used for the partition between
the gardens instead of brick walls and safety bars have not been
            installed.

Developer drops

            Iskandar Taib
THE developer of Taman Putra has abandoned its plans to construct
houses to replace those which are on the verge of collapse - forcing
the 19 affected house-buyers to another round of waiting for new
homes. MCB Holdings Bhd cried out of its undertaking to the State
Government and the affected buyers to build replacement houses,
            citing financial constraints.

Sarang penagih,
            maksiat
            10/09/1992 HM
Buloh, Paya Jaras dekat sini kini dikatakan menjadi sarang maksiat
dan penagihan dadah. Ketua Umno cawangan Paya Jaras Utara, Rahmat
            penduduk.

ALL is not lost for buyers of the Taman Bukit Permai housing project in

rubble last Thursday can seek redress for the "non-delivery" of the

Ramai pembeli kena tipu

Ketika
mendedahkan perkara itu, Timbalan Pengerusi Penaja Persatuan Pengguna dan
Pembeli Rumah Johor, Muhamad Basir Nawabuddin, berkata beliau hanya
menyedari perkara itu selepas pemaju memintanya menjelaskan bayaran
      pemasangan meter air.
