SEREMBAN, Sabtu - Ketiadaan pembeli menyebabkan sekurang-kurangnya enam projek perumahan di daerah ini, Kuala Pilah dan Port Dickson terbengkalai, kata Timbalan Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Bertindak Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan negeri, Dr Teow Chai Thiam. Menurut beliau, orang ramai tidak berminat memberi rumah yang ditawarkan itu kerana kedudukannya tidak sesuai.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sat. - The Uniform Building By-law which empowers the Fire Services Department to enforce certain safety standards in buildings, including factories and flats, however does not cover private dwellings, a department official said today. The Fire Services Department's public relations officer, Encik Mohamed Abdullah, said that paragraph 256 of the by-law stated that private dwellings, like houses with single family occupancy, were exempted from the requirements of safety standards in the by-law.

DEVELOPERS of abandoned housing projects under the low-cost housing special programme will be given until the end of the Sixth Malaysia Plan period in 1995 to revive them, Housing and Local Government Minister Dr Ting Chew Peh said. To date 152 abandoned housing projects have been revived, he added.

Menteri Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan, Dr Ting Chew Peh, berkata kelewatan pengeluaran CFO antara punca yang menyebabkan ramai pembeli tidak menyedari mendiami rumah tanpa CFO apabila pemaju menyerahkan kunci.

HOUSING consultant firms will be required to get the approval of all relevant government agencies before applying for the certificate of fitness of occupation (CF) for houses, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, Encik Osu Sukam, said in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. He said this would facilitate local government authorities concerned issuing the certificate within two weeks after receiving the Form "E" submitted by consultant firms. "The new procedure transfers the responsibility of getting approval of agencies concerned from local government authorities to consultant firms," he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. He said the Johor Baru Municipal Council, Kuantan Muncipal Council, Ipoh City Hall, Housing Developers Association (HDA) and Malaysian Institute of Architects agreed to the procedure at yesterday's meeting. Other local government authorities will be notified of the procedure at a meeting to be held soon, he said. - Bernama

KOTA BHARU, Khamis - Polis Kelantan menyiasat 20 kes menggunakan dokumen palsu untuk mengeluarkan caruman Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP) bagi membeli rumah. Ini berikutan kejayaan polis menahan seorang lelaki berusia 29 tahun di Kota Bharu pada 24 Februari lalu kerana disyaki menjalankan kegiatan memalsukan dokumen permohonan mengeluarkan caruman KWSP, termasuk penggunaan surat palsu pemaju perumahan.

SEREMBAN, Mon. - The developer of the proposed Penang Hill development project will not be given another chance to undertake the project. Penang Chief Minister Dr Koh Tsu Koon said last night the decision to scrap the project by Bukit Pinang Leisure Sdn Bhd was final and the company would not be allowed a third opportunity to continue with the project following the rejection of its second Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) report by the Department of Environment (DOE).
