THE KLANG Municipal Council has promised stern action against property
developers who failed to erect signboards at their project sites to inform the
public about the type of developement being carried out. MPK president Abdul
Hakim Borhan said the council's building department will haul up developers

THE Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) is being criticised for approving
a luxury apartment and bungalow project at the fringe of a water catchment area
near Taman Tun Abdul Razak. Twenty-five hectares of forested hillslope near
the periphery of the Hulu Klang-Hulu Gombak water catchment area will be cleared
for the project, creating fears that erosion will affect the catchment area.

MELAKA, Isnin - Jabatan Ketua Menteri (JKM) dan Pejabat Setiausaha Kerajaan
Negeri (SUK) hari ini menerima teguran Jawatankuasa Kira-Kira Awam (PAC) Negeri
berhubung dasar penswastaan pembinaan rumah awam kos rendah yang dianggap merugikan.

Court order to developer set aside

KUALA LUMPUR, Mon. - The Federal Court today set aside a High Court order
obtained by a developer to take vacant possession of a piece of land in Penang
occupied by about 100 families. In setting aside the order, Federal Court Judge
Tan Sri Edgar Joseph Jr directed that the land dispute should be heard by the
High Court as there were "triable issues" which had been raised by the occupants.

A PROPERTY developer is taking his time to install a signboard at a housing
project site off Jalan Kim Chuan, Klang, in defiance of rules set by the Klang
Municipal Council. The signboard is not up although work has progressed for
more than six months. Several rows of double-storey terrace houses are now being
built at the back of the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital.

perlu memastikan perjalanan projek dengan penuh teliti. Oleh sebab projek seumpama
ini membabitkan institusi dan individu, usaha ini terdedah kepada ancaman penyelewengan

Beef up safety, developer told

THE developer of an office building in Jalan Doraisamy will be ordered by City
Hall to beef up safety at the project site. Press officer Razhali Abdul Rahman
said they will issue a notice asking the developer to install safety nets around
the building to prevent debris or other construction materials from falling
onto nearby houses.

Ketua Setiausaha Negara supaya semua jabatan kerajaan memperkenalkan
Piagam Pelanggan dalam perkhidmatan harian mereka. Arahan ini adalah sesuatu
yang positif dalam usaha meningkatkan tahap perkhidmatan di kalangan kakitangan
awam. Hal ini nampaknya tidak berlaku di Bahagian Pinjaman Perumahan atau mungkin
ini hanya suatu pengalaman buruk bagi kami suami isteri. Kami membuat permohonan
pinjaman perumahan secara berasingan pada September 1993. Selepas itu, bayaran
untuk harga tanah bagi pinjaman saya dijelaskan pada 27 November 1993. Bayaran
bagi lot isteri saya pula dijelaskan pada 6 Januari 1994. Tetapi selepas bayaran
itu, kami masih menanti-nantikan bayaran kemajuan bagi peringkat II, III dan
IV hingga ke hari ini.

I'M prompted to write this letter in response to newspaper reports about
government statements regarding the Bumiputera housing quota. Although it cannot
be denied that there are not many Bumiputera buyers in Penang, more has to be
done to monitor the situation to ensure that housing developers do not exploit
the six-month grace period to reap higher profits by keeping Bumiputera buyers
away and wilfully withholding units meant for them.
Stop order on Seremban

Seremban, has been ordered by the Seremban Municipal Council (MPS) to stop work
immediately. Council deputy president Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid, in issuing

Government Ministry to revoke the licences of two developers if they disregard
its directive to check the flooding problems caused by their projects. Council

THE Gombak District Council is being sued by two residents over the collapse
of a house and retaining wall due to soil erosion that happened in 1988.
