Pemaju hadapi tujuh dakwaan

PETALING JAYA, Selasa - First Nationwide Sdn Bhd, syarikat pemaju projek
bangunan kampus Kolej Bandar Utama di Damansara, dihadapkan ke Mahkamah
Majistret di sini hari ini dengan tujuh tuduhan membabitkan kecuaian
sehingga menyebabkan kemalangan yang mengorbankan tujuh nyawa dan
mencederakan 13 lain.
Pemaju wajib pulihara pokok

IPOH: Semua pemaju projek pembangunan wajib menyerahkan pelan topografi
asal kawasan yang akan dimajukan apabila pindaan Akta Perancangan Bandar
dan Desa 1976, diluluskan di Parlimen, April ini. Menteri Perumahan dan
Kerajaan Tempatan, Datuk Dr Ting Chew Peh, berkata syarat itu bertujuan
membantu pihak berkuasa tempatan mengetahui jumlah pokok di sesuatu
kawasan yang akan dibangunkan.
Strata titles: Developer fined RM2,500

PENANG, Tues. - A housing developer was fined RM2,500 or three months'
jail in default by the magistrate's court here today for failing to apply for
the strata titles for the flats his company built four years ago. Wayton Sdn
Bhd, respresented by one of its directors Ang Chin San, pleaded guilty to committing
the offence on Aug 23, 1990.

KUALA LUMPUR: Kejadian 10 besi terjatuh daripada kren sebuah bangunan yang
mengorbankan seorang pengguna jalan raya di Jalan Raja Chulan, Jumaat lalu,
mungkin berpunca daripada kelalaian prosedur kerja. Siasatan awal Jabatan
Kilang dan Jentera (JKJ) Selangor dan Wilayah Persekutuan mendapati tiada
sebarang kecacatan pada struktur kren yang memungkinkan 10 daripada 15
batang besi sepanjang empat meter itu terlerai dan jatuh dari tingkat 29
bangunan terbabit.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pemaju bangunan di kawasan tinggi dan lereng bukit yang
gagal mendapatkan khidmat juruperunding bebas, dinasihat merujukkan
perkara itu kepada kerajaan. Menteri Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan,
Datuk Dr Ting Chew Peh, berkata perkara itu penting untuk memastikan
pemaju mendapat khidmat juruperunding bebas untuk menyiasat tapak projek
masing-masing secepat mungkin bagi mengelakkan kerugian.
DOE may take action against 51 developers

KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - The Department of Environment will take legal action against
51 developers in Selangor whose projects are subject to Environmental Impact
Assessment regulations if they fail to submit periodic reports on the progress
of their projects by the end of the month. Selangor and Federal Territory DOE
director Hashim Daud said that although the EIAs were approved, the reports
were necessary to ensure they complied with the EIA requirements.

KLANG police are compiling the evidence of 327 people, who claimed that they
were cheated of RM1.5 million by three bogus housing agents, to ascertain
how they were conned. Klang OCPD ACP Khoo Ah See said they would take some time
to record the statements.
Pemaju guna khidmat arkitek tidak bertauliah

MIRI: Majlis Perbandaran Miri (MPM) mendedahkan perbuatan sesetengah pemaju
mengemukakan pelan yang disediakan oleh pelukis pelan tidak bertauliah yang
kemudian dihantar kepada majlis itu melalui juru perunding atau arkitek
berdaftar untuk mendapat kelulusan. Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Bangunan dan
Perancangan Bandar MPM, Radzali Alision, berkata pihaknya dapat mengesan
banyak pelan bangunan yang disediakan oleh pelukis pelan tidak bertauliah.
Pemaju wajib stabilkan muka bumi 28/03/1994 BH
GOPENG, Ahad - Semua pemaju perumahan wajib menyiapkan kerja penstabilan
muka bumi di kawasan binaan masing-masing apabila kerajaan meminda Peraturan
Pemaju Perumahan 1989 tidak lama lagi. Menteri Perumahan dan Kerajaan
Tempatan, Datuk Dr Ting Chew Peh, berkata peraturan dipinda berikutan dua
tragedi bangunan runtuh iaitu Highland Towers tahun lalu dan pangsapuri Pine
Rosert di Bukit Fraser, baru-baru ini.

KOTA TINGGI: The proposed Consumer Protection Bill, expected to be tabled
in Parliament at year's end, will provide better protection to house buyers
from being cheated by developers. Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister
Datuk Abu Hassan Omar said the protection would come in the form of a redress
system where consumers could fight for their rights in a more formal manner.
Study on quality buildings

THE State Government has set up a committee to study the quality of buildings
built in the state, Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalil Yaakob said yesterday. Speaking
to reporters after chairing an exco meeting in Kuantan, he said the study is
necessary in view of the numerous complaints of poor quality from house-buyers
and owners of other buildings. He said the committee will be assisted by the
Public Works Department and consultant of each project. Khalil said the Government
was not satisfied with the quality of some projects, including the Masjid Ahmad
1 project. "We are interested in good end result and so we want the JKR to supervise
the construction of big projects," he said. - Bernama
Soil check a must before construction

THE Housing Developers Association (HDA) welcomes the Housing and Local
Government Ministry's proposal that erosion prevention works should be completed
before construction begins. HDA secretary-general Datuk Alan Tong Kok Mau said
the proposal, however, would effect small and medium scale developers unless
a revision of the schedule of progress payment was made in the standard sales
and purchase agreement.
