KUANTAN, Wed. - A group of 19 buyers of a high-end condominium project in Sungai
Karang today filed a petition in the High Court to wind up the developer in
their bid to revive and complete the project. The project, called Sunny Beach
Resort, was supposed to be completed in 1995. It was abandoned in 1996 after
only 90 per cent completed.

Ketika ini, projek pembinaan kilang bagi kemudahan kegiatan Industri Kecil dan
Sederhana (IKS) yang dijangka beroperasi awal tahun ini, gagal disiapkan mengikut
jadual disebabkan pemajunya tidak berkemampuan meneruskan pembinaannya termasuk
kerana menghadapi masalah kewangan.

di Ulu Tiram, dekat sini adalah projek perumahan terbengkalai terakhir di negeri
ini dapat diselesaikan, selepas menerima Sijil Layak Menduduki (CF) bulan lalu.
Projek perumahan membabitkan 1,422 unit rumah kos rendah itu terbengkalai sejak

Plantations Sdn Bhd, had stopped work since last year, leaving the buyers in

loans since 1994.

housing schemes, undertaken by the private sector, that have been abandoned
since 1997. Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon said the State Government
wanted to facilitate the completion of these projects involving 5,381 units
with the help of the Finance Ministry, Bank Negara, the Housing and Local Government
Ministry and financial institutions.

Perak, who are still waiting for their houses after 12 years has been referred
to the Attorney-General's Chambers. Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk
Dr Ting Chew Peh said the AG's Chambers was looking into how the whole project
was auctioned off without protecting the rights of the purchasers who had paid

KUALA LUMPUR, Tues. - A group representing 554 property buyers in Bukit OUG
in Jalan Kelang Lama lodged a report with the city police commercial crime department
today claiming that the developer had failed to deliver their homes. Speaking
on behalf of the group, Loh Kwong Cheng, a Singapore national, claimed in his
report that the developer (Sri Keladi Sdn Bhd) had defaulted in delivering their
homes since 1997, as per their sales and purchase agreement.
