About 1,500 buyers of the stalled Taman Terubong Indah (Majestic Heights)
Phase 1 project have to fork out between RM6,000 and RM9,966 to complete
the project. Deloitte Kassim Chan corporate restructuring and recovery
services executive director Chu Siew Koon said the liquidators had
estimated the project’s completion to cost over RM15.5mil.

PENANG will ask state local authorities to help purchasers of the
stalled Taman Terubong Indah (Majestic Heights) Phase 1 to revive the
project. Paya Terubong assemblyman Dr Loh Hock Hun said the Penang Municipal
Council, Public Works Department and the Penang Water Supply Corporation
would be asked to waive development contributions amounting to RM3.62mil.

If things go smoothly, the 3,000-odd purchasers of the stalled Taman
Terubong Indah (Majestic Heights) project might not have to pay more than
RM6,000 each for the project revival. State Trade, Commerce and Consumer
Affairs Committee chairman Dr Loh Hock Hun said he would write to Tenaga
Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) to waive RM456,900
and RM1.18mil in contribution charges respectively.

Forum on revival plan

closed-door forum for purchasers on Sunday. Phase 3A committee chairman

(Rehda) Penang branch had done nothing to help victims of abandoned

Heights, the country's largest abandoned housing project, is seeking
qualified developers or contractors to revive the housing scheme.
Committee adviser for Phases 2A, 2B and 3A Lau Heng Loon said
contractors with a minimum qualification of the Contractors' Service
Centre Grade 5 certification and the Construction Industry Development
Board (CIDB) or from the Malaysian Architects' Association are
encouraged to apply.

project is progressing well since it kicked off at the beginning of this
month. Developer Wira Properties Management Sdn Bhd project director Teh
Kian Chong said work has been progressing on schedule and two show units
were almost completed to be handed over to the purchasers’ committee.

largest single abandoned housing project.
