PETALING JAYA: A total of 7,428 housing units to relocate squatters under the government's people's housing project (PPR) have
been completed, said Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting.
Next year, 8,848 more units would be completed, mainly in Kuala Lumpur and in 2003, another 12,740 more units were expected to
						be built, he said.
Over the next three years, some 37,152 units would be completed, of which 34,148 would be in Kuala Lumpur and 3,004 in Lembah
Subang, he told reporters after handing over the keys for the PPR Lembah Subang Phase 2 project, near here, yesterday.
Ong said the Selangor Government has suggested to the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council to allot an additional 6.8ha for the
						project.
"They have suggested to my ministry to build more PPR projects and this is being discussed with the state government," he
						added. |
