Parking lots
taken up by tables

THERE isn't enough parking space outside Fortune Avenue condominium in
Kepong because many of the parking lots on the main road are taken up by
food operators who set up open-air tables at night.
Given this problem, the management and residents of Block C and D of the
condominium at Jalan Metro Perdana 3 and 2 in Kepong had written many
letters of complaint to restaurant owners in the area for the
indiscriminate placement of tables and chairs - but to no effect. They
have also complained to City Hall a few
times and todate, they say, that City Hall has not taken any action
against these restaurants.
A resident says that only a small percentage of the tables display City
Hall approved stickers.
The residents are extremely upset as City Hall has chosen to ignore all
the complaints.
● CITY Hall corporate communications manager Anuar Mohd Zain says City
Hall had taken action many times by issuing compounds to the restaurants
around Fortune Avenue condominium, especially Block C and D, on the
indiscriminate placement of tables and chairs.
"Action was taken on Jan 14, April 24 and May 27 and total compounds
issued were 17," he adds.
He said City Hall would continue checking the area and take action
accordingly at the above locations.
