SPNB rehabilitates 73
abandoned housing projects

KUANTAN: Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) has rehabilitated 73
abandoned housing projects nationwide, involving 23,089 houses, until last
January, its chairman Senator Datuk Azian Osman said recently. He said 19 of
the abandoned projects were rehabilitated by providing financial assistance,
while 54 others received advice and expertise from SPNB.
He said SPNB would continue to rehabilitate abandoned housing projects and
that an allocation of RM430 million had been made for the purpose under the
economic stimulus package which was announced recently.
Azian said SPNB had also built 7,972 houses under the Mesra Rakyat Housing
programme nationwide.
“Another 7,623 units are under construction or in the agreement signing
stage,” he said at the handing of house keys to owners of Mesra Rakyat
houses at Perkampungan Cerating Damai here.
In Pahang, 503 Mesra Rakyat houses had been built and another 543 units were
under construction, he added. — Bernama. |
