THE newly-formed house buyers pro tem committee of Precinct 11, Putrajaya,
are calling for a house buyers meeting tomorrow to update all on the status
of the stalled housing project.
The meeting will be held at 2.30pm at the multi-purpose hall of the
Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development Ministry (MECD building) in
Precinct 2, Persiaran Perdana, Putrajaya.
Earlier, some 90 house buyers were present at the Putrajaya International
Convention Centre at a meeting organised by the enforcement team of the
Local Government and Housing Ministry (KPKT) that brought together project
developer Arif Cerah Sdn Bhd.
Chairing the meeting was KPKT secretary-general Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail.
Also present were representatives of Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, the master
developer of Putrajaya.
The pro tem committee treasurer Azali Adnan said this was the buyers second
meeting with the KPKT. The first was held on June 1.
“Our pro tem committee was formed so that we can have a greater voice
through a proper association,” said Azali.
“What is important for us now is that we want our house back. At the moment
we are working closely with the KPKT to find the remaining house buyers so
that we can have the new sales & purchase agreement signed.”
It is learnt that Putrajaya Holdings is set to take over the project but not
before the new sales and purchase agreement is signed by 80% of the total
number of buyers.
“There are 211 buyers. So far, we have found about 120 of them, which
constitute just over 50%.
“We will need about 160 buyers to make up the necessary 80%,” added Azali.
The housing project consists of different types of homes - the Garden Resort
and Amber Homes which are terrace and double-storey link houses, the Citrine
Semi D and Saujana Aster Condo.
The buyers said they had bought their units in 2004 and the date for
delivery was December 2006.
The project stalled after construction work ceased late last year and the
units are in different stages of completion.
It was not until recently that buyers have had some ray of hope.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, the project would be restarted in October
and should be ready in two years.
Committee member Shafiq Tariq, who is also the shoplots representative, said
the committee had also appointed its own lawyer for the sales and purchase
agreement.
“There are people still unaware of what we have been doing so far.
“So we hope buyers will come forward after reading this,” said Shafiq.
Pro tem committee chairman Dr Abdul Onny Yahya said the buyers’
participation at Saturday’s meeting was vital.
For those who are unable to come personally to sign the agreement, proxy
forms are available for them to do so.
