FT Land Office offers 50% discount on late payment charges

AS AN incentive to get city folks to pay up their quit rent by May 31 – the Federal Territory Land Office is offering a 50% discount on late payment charges to all home owners in Kuala Lumpur.

Home owners with accumulated fines need only show up with their quit rent receipts at the FT land office at Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin to settle their payments.

FT Land office deputy director Siti Farizan Shoukkatt said the incentive was to enable those with a high outstanding balance to settle their payments.

Payment can also be made at any post office branches in KL and Selangor as well at the 16 Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) branches.

“We are also embarking on a campaign to get as many people to pay up their quit rent by opening up counters at shopping complexes.

“The discount on late payment charges will apply here as well as via online. Souvenirs will be given out for the early birds.

Siti Farizan advised those who own property in Kuala Lumpur and have yet to settle their quit rent to do so quickly to make use of the discount.

The land office sends out notices once a year starting Jan 1 to May 31.

Payments can be made from 11am to 3pm at Tesco Ampang on May 10, Carrefour Wangsa Maju on May 17, KL Sogo on May 24, and Bangsar Village on May 31.
