More problems for flat owners

PETALING JAYA: Getting the keys, three years late, was not the end of
problems for 130 families who bought units in the Antara Vista flats in
Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara.
The temporary certificate of fitness (CF) expired last June and the
developer had not yet got the permanent CF for the 252 units in the complex.
And according to residents, Antara Vista Sdn Bhd refused to pay the late
delivery charge despite a court order from the housing tribunal.
According to flat owner Hassan Basri, each resident was entitled to RM5,000
to RM8,000. "But they refuse to pay up, saying they don't have the money,"
he said.
The developer managed to persuade some of the owners to settle for RM800 to
RM1,000, he said.
