A need to look at strata title
issue

IT IS time that the new Selangor State Government look into numerous
complaints about land and strata titles in the state, as well as expediting
approval for sale of properties with leasehold titles.
Selangor should take the lead and become the model for other states to
follow by ensuring that errant developers do not get away with applications
to split their master titles to individual house buyers.
For too many years, the people of Selangor have complained about not getting
their land or strata title. Whatever the reasons, the whole system has not
been revamped to improve its efficiency.
Many of us complained to the housing authorities about errant developers,
and we were often told that land titles were issued by the land office, but
when we brought this to the land office and even state assemblymen, nothing
improved.
With the new state government in place, we hope that the system will be
revamped to ensure that developers comply with the laws to apply for strata
and individual land titles.
Open spaces in each housing estate should also be gazetted as soon as
possible. During past administrations, this failure to gazette open spaces
has caused much dissatisfaction among house buyers.
ENOUGH NONSENSE,
