THE seven-year wait for an apartment in the Taman Cemerlang project in
Bandar Baru Air Itam, Penang, may finally come to an end.

The Taman Cemerlang Purchasers Committee is calling a meeting with all unit
purchasers at the Penang Khek Association on Burma Road from 2pm to 5pm on
    Feb 3.

“We want to inform all purchasers about the outcome from discussions with
the new developer Lembahman Development Sdn Bhd.

“We want to listen to the opinion of purchasers on what has been negotiated
so far,” said committee chairman Wong Heng Mun during a press conference
called by Paya Terubong assemblyman Datuk Dr Loh Hock Hun.

The Taman Cemerlang was launched in 1997 and abandoned after its initial
developer wound up in 1999. At the time of the launch, it was projected that
the blocks would be completed in 2001.

The cost of each unit varies from RM50,000 to RM140,000 and purchasers have
already paid 10% to 20% in deposits.

There are 1,338 units in the five apartment blocks excluding 42 shop lots.

Wong said purchasers attending the meeting should bring their identification
cards and know the units they bought.

“If they are unable to attend, the third party is required to bring along an
authorisation letter bearing the purchaser’s signature along with a
photocopy of the purchaser’s identification card,” he said.

Those who have yet to join the committee can do so at Dr Loh’s service
centre located at 1B-1-2, Jalan Ru Satu, Desa Baiduri in Bandar Baru Air
    Itam.
