RESIDENTS living in and around Abadi Indah condominium at Taman Desa in
Jalan Kelang Lama are disappointed that the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL)
has approved a project to build a yet another condominium in their
neighbourhood.
The area earmarked for the project is apparently the only green area in
their neighbourhood.
“The open area was our only spot of green,'' said resident Christy Teoh.
K.Y. Lam said that when residents heard about the project, they submitted a
list of objections.
“Despite the objections, the DBKL went ahead and approved it,'' he said.
A resident who declined to be name said it was also the drop-off point for
students using the school bus.
“The next green area - a football field - is 3km away,'' he said.
Seputeh MP Teresa Kok said that she was disappointed that the project was
given the green light by the DBKL.
“This is simply poor town planning by the DBKL,'' she said.
Kok will be meeting up with officers from the town planning department on
Aug 14 to discuss the matter.
