Houses affected by landslide
require CF

HOUSE owners in Taman Zoo View affected by a landslide on May 31 last year,
have to apply for a certificate of fitness for occupation for their houses.
Ampang Jaya Municipal Council president Mohammad Yacob said owners have to
apply for the CF after repair works on their houses are completed.
It was reported earlier that the houses do not have the certificate because
the housing estate was developed more than 30 years ago and at that time,
houses were not required to be issued with CF.
Mohammad said repair works on the hillslope are ongoing and the council is
monitoring the progress.
“Developers of Zoo View and other government agencies, including the Public
Works Department and Drainage and Irrigation Department, are involved in the
repair works.”
Mohammad said this at a Press conference after the council’s full board
meeting yesterday.
He said the works are expected to be completed in October.
It is learnt that repair works are now in stage three, where soil and rocks
were filled in to replace the unstable soil in the area.
The Kampung Pasir incident claimed four lives and left some 160 people
homeless.
Several houses in Taman Zoo View located on a higher part of the hill were
also affected by the landslide, prompting them to temporarily vacate their
houses.
It was reported that former council president Datuk Ahmad Fuad Shafii Saidin
had said the houses did not have CF.
Residents said the housing area was developed 30 years ago and CFs were not
required then.
