Lottery centre located in
condo busted

PETALING JAYA: Police have busted a lottery counting centre located in a
condominium in Kota Damansara which has been taking about RM3mil in bets
monthly.
OCPD Asst Comm Mazlan Mansor said seven people, including four women, all
between 20 and 35 years, were detained.
He said the centre could be part of a syndicate operating in Kota Damansara
for the past month.
“The suspects were in the midst of tabulating the bets when the police team
moved in.
“Bets were being tabulated via the telephone, faxes and on-line,” he told
reporters yesterday.
Eight laptops, two fax machines, a printer, two landline telephones, five
mobile phones and 11 calculators were seized at the scene, ACP Mazlan said.
