17/09/2006 The Star

KLANG: Once an eyesore, an abandoned hotel project here is being transformed into a beautiful up-market structure.

The project, located along the Jalan Batu Tiga Lama stretch of the Federal Highway, is being rehabilitated by developer Datuk Teo Chiang Kok of the See Hoy Chan group.

Teo said he decided to embark on the 28-storey office tower project in view of the potential of the location as well as Klang’s rapid economic growth.

The building, named Centro, would also have food outlets offering outdoor dining which would appeal to the younger generation. The building is being developed by Teo's Centro Properties Group Sdn Bhd.

“Centro is the right product for Klang, which has grown rapidly over the last 10 years,” said Teo when met at the project site yesterday.

He added that the office tower would be well received as currently all corporate offices in Klang were operating from shophouses.

“Due to the rapid development of Klang, there is a growing population of young entrepreneurs here and we are offering them lifestyle facilities are currently not available in Klang,” he added.
