However, he is still unable to be the king of his castle due to defects and
shoddy workmanship of his house.
The 52-year-old Loourdusamy, who works with the Ipoh City Council, said he
was currently renting a house at Kampung Tailee in Silibin for his family of
nine.
“Judging from the house structure, I dare not stay there as I am afraid for
my family’s safety,” he told reporters after a visit by state MCA public
complaints bureau deputy chairman Datuk Lee Kon Yin recently.
Several residents at the area also staged a peaceful protest during the
press conference.
Loourdusamy added that to add to his misery, he had to pay monthly
instalment of RM338 for the house.
“I appeal to the authorities to step in,” he begged.
According to the housing area’s residents association deputy chairman Azhari
Abdul Aziz, the shoddy workmanship affected some 50 houses.
”We hope the developer can either compensate us monetarily for causing us
undue stress or give us a new house,” he said wishfully.
Lee said he would write to the council, the ministry and state Consumer
Affairs and Unity Committee chairman Datuk G. Rajoo.
The developer declined to comment. |
