Is there a demand?

CONSTRUCTION is going on at a frenzied pace. Along the KLIA highway, the swamps are being replaced by houses as far as the eye can see. The same goes for the New Klang Valley Expressway. On hillslopes, million-dollar condos are being built for the well- heeled.

One wonders if there is actually a demand for all these properties. Or is the developers’ motto now to build first and find customers later?

There are countless abandoned projects.

Do the authorities undertake in-depth evaluation of proposed projects to ensure there is demand?
