Too late to stop auction of house

JASBIR from Sri Gombak wants to know why Standard Chartered Bank Bhd insists on running an auction of her double-storey house even after she had found a buyer.

“I found the buyer last Thursday and my husband went to the bank in Damansara Utama the next day, hoping to stop the auction scheduled for this Thursday or Friday and to settle the mortgage of RM75,000.”

“However, I was told that the auction will still take place.”

* A SPOKESMAN for the bank says that under the National Land Code, 1965, to remove an auction, the house owner needs to submit a form seven days before the auction date.
