KLANG, SELANGOR, March 20 Residents of Fasa Wangsa 2 in Taman Sentosa, have
lodged a police report against their Klang-based developer, Sweet Choice Sdn
Bhd.
The report was made at the Taman Sentosa police beat on Friday at 8.55pm by
N. Mohan, who represented 48 house owners living in the one-year-old mixed
development neighbourhood.
In the police report, residents claimed the developer did not act when they
complained about their houses ‘sinking’ shortly after moving in, in March
last year.
The house owners became worried over their safety when cracks appeared on
the walls, ceiling and beams. The ground also became uneven due to poor
foundation. Water was also leaking from the fuse boxes in their houses.
The house owners also urged police to investigate why the Klang Municipal
Council (MPK) issued the Certificate of Fitness to the developer when the
houses were not safe to live in,
Mohan was advised by the police to lodge a report with the Local, Housing
and Government Ministry before police could act on the matter.
In Saturday’s Malay Mail report, a resident, S. Kumutha, claimed that the
developer did a shoddy job when repairing cracks at her house. As a result,
the cracks became bigger and there were gaps on the wall and the ceiling,
and the tiles on the floor cracked.
Some house owners also claimed they had difficulty closing the sliding doors
due to the uneven ground.
Kumutha claimed the repair works by the developer, which were done poorly,
was only a ‘temporary measure’ until the warranty period ends.
She also claimed that house owners were made to wait for weeks to months
just to get a response after filing a report on the defects. |
