Prai council

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Want to give an instant rating for the counter services
provided by a government body?
You can do so at the Seberang Prai Municipal Council (MPSP), which claims to
be the first government body to allow its ratepayers to rate services
provided at its counters.
MPSP president Datuk Md Aris Ariffin said the council has equipped its
service counters at the new headquarters in Bandar Perda here with an
electronic system that allowed ratepayers to give instant feedback on the
quality of services provided.
“The system, known as Quality of Service (QoS), enables customers to rate
the services provided by us,” he said when launching the centralised service
counters.
“After the counter transactions are completed, the ratepayers will be asked
to press one of the five buttons on the device available at all our 17
service counters.
“Button one indicates low quality of service and five the highest.
“The LCD display at the service counter lobby will then flash the ratings.
It is linked to my office and I will get to see the ratings, too.”
He said the council would evaluate the input from the ratepayers and use the
information to improve itself.
“Previously, the council obtained feedback on its services from
questionnaires which were handed out to customers,” he said.
