Fed up with lift breakdowns

CALVIN of Desa Kiara Condominium in Jalan Damansara is fed up with the frequent lift breakdowns at Block 695 where he lives.

"We have no choice but to use the staircase. Imagine those living on the top floors as there are 28 floors altogether," he said.

"Even when the lifts are working, they are jerky and we have to wait for a while before getting into one.

"This is also about safety of the residents. There were occasions that we got stuck in the lift when it jammed," he says.

THE management of Desa Kiara Condominium said a newly-appointed contractor is undertaking maintenance by changing major parts of the lifts.

"The work started this month. When we are working on one lift, the other would be running as usual.

"However, there will be times when the working lift would break down too.

"But we have a 24-hour response team to handle any crisis and the residents can come to us for clarification," the official says.
