Mud flow woes return
The Star 01/12/2006

RESIDENTS of High Street in Tronoh, Perak, thought that the mud flood woes they faced last year were over after a developer of a housing scheme nearby constructed a bunker to stop the mud slides.

But the problem returned recently when part of the bunker gave way due to the current wet spell.

Resident Loke Kah Chiew, 60, said each time there was a downpour, mud from the housing project would flow into the residential area.

“We would spend half a day just to clean up the mess left behind,” he told a press conference on Thursday.

The residents brought their problem to Tronoh assemblyman Datuk Lee Kon Yin who then contacted the developer.

Lee said the developer, LBS Sdn Bhd, promised to take action.

LBS spokesman Wong Kok Leong said the bunker would be rebuilt within a week.
