RESIDENTS of the eight-storey Sunrise Park Apartments in Kampung Baru
Ampang are fed-up with the poor service provided by Kumpalan Bertiga
Development Sdn Bhd, which oversees maintenance.
They claim that, for more than two years, the company has failed to take
action to solve problems like maintaining rubbish disposal areas, lifts,
patching up potholes and replacing stolen fire extinguishers.

About two months ago, residents collected money to repair the only
functional lift in the building, after the first lift broke down five years
ago.
When the only functional lift broke down, some residents had to climb
eight floors to their apartments.
Jamaliah Suwondo, 46, a resident for 10 years, said that there were some
old folk, pregnant mothers and housewives staying on the top floor and this
was inconvenient for them.
“There is no fire extinguisher and the rubbish area is an eyesore. Even
the backup generator is not functional.
“Residents here are wondering why they need to pay the maintenance fee as
the maintenance company does not do its job,” said Jamaliah.
Another resident T. N Raja said there is little security and her
husband's motorcycle had been stolen two years ago.
“I even had to change my car shock absorbers because of the huge
potholes. I hope something is done soon to ensure that the maintenance
company will do the necessary,” said Raja.
Newly elected Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) councillor Tan Kok Hor,
who is also Ampang MCA Youth Division chairman, said that Ampang MCA
Division chief Low Kim Mang and residents will meet up with up with the
maintenance company next week.
