THE Subang Jaya and Sepang municipal councils will impose an additional
condition on all developers with projects near Taman Putra Prima, forcing
them to place a “performance bond.’’
Dengkil assemblyman Suhaimi Ghazali said the main road was facing serious
damage due to the large number of heavy vehicles using the road and a large
amount of sand had fallen on the road from lorries carrying earth.
He said both councils had directed the developers in their respective areas
to clean up the earth and restore the road once the development was
complete.
He added that the bond would be forfeited if the companies failed to do so
and the money used by the councils to carry out the repairs.
Suhaimi visited the road connecting Jalan Puchong to Taman Putra Prima with
Seri Serdang assemblyman Datuk Satim Diman and officials from both councils.
Taman Putra Prima residents have been complaining about the situation for
the past three years.
Satim said he was working together with Suhaimi to look into solutions to
the problem and had had several meetings with the council.
The Seri Serdang constituency, which includes parts of Puchong, is under the
Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) while the Dengkil constituency, which
includes the southern part of Puchong, is under the Sepang Municipal Council
(MPSp).
Satim said more meetings would be held to decide on the division of
maintenance and costs along the road to avoid confusion.
He said there were also problems with heavy vehicles driving against traffic
to gain easy access to some of the project sites.
“We will issue a stern warning to the companies involved and ask them to
post a ``flagman’’ to control traffic if they want to to use the shortcut,”
he said.
