KUALA LUMPUR: All residents of four blocks of flats in Wangsa Maju Section 10 will be relocated to temporary homes in Air Panas. 

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Zulhasnan Rafique said the residents from 160 units in Blocks B3, B4, B5 and B6 would move into the Seri Semarak public housing scheme by this weekend. 

“They will have to move out until we get the findings of the study to be conducted by the Public Works Institute (Ikram) and the Public Works Department,” he said after visiting the site yesterday. 

He said Ikram would carry out geotechnical tests to determine the cause of the landslide. 

Zulhasnan said a meeting involving Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ruslin Hasan, Ikram, police, the Fire and Rescue Department and Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway concessionaire Kesturi Sdn Bhd had reached an agreement that Kesturi would immediately strengthen the slope at the site to prevent further landslides from occurring. 

“The remedial work may take about 10 days to complete,” he said.
