Centre only a part of area
26/10/2006 The Star
With reference to the story on the one stop centre for community services at
Section 7, Kota Damansara. we would like to clarify that the one-stop centre
is not an officially recognised centre by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
It is just a sub-centre for residents at the townhouses in Section 7, which
should come under the jurisdiction of Section 7 Residents Association and
administered by MBPJ councillor Halimaton Saadiah who represented Kota
Damansara assemblyman Datuk Haji Mokhtar Dahlan.
The other sub-centre is located where the 1 1/2-storey houses and apartments
are.
It is not true that there is a lack of activities for Section 7. Activities
are abundant, among which are football, thalil/yasin gatherings for the
womenfolk and conservation activities at the Kota Damansara Community Forest
Park.
For your information, the community hall has its fair share of usage for
activities like weddings, dialogues, home science activities and sports.
Therefore, the sub-community centre is just a part of the Section 7
community activities. The assemblyman and MBPJ have been actively involved in
most activities for the community in Section 7.
If there are any complaints, the sub-centre can always bring them up to MBPJ
through the councillor's representative, the assemblyman or to the council's
Complaint Bureau. The issues brought up in the report have also been
highlighted to MBPJ on a few occasions.
