PENANG: The Consumer Claims Tribunal and House Buyer Claims Tribunal should
stand by their decisions to give credence to their findings and gain public
respect.
Consumers Association of Penang president S.M. Mohamed Idris said there had
been cases when tribunal cases were taken to the High Court, and the
tribunals, cited as respondents, did not defend their decisions.
“This leaves the consumers wondering why they do not stand by the decisions
they have handed down.
“Since the tribunals are cited as one of the defendants in judicial review
cases, they should defend their decisions.
“This will ensure that tribunals are really careful in deciding the cases
that come before them.
