Public road fast turning

WE REFER to Jalan 31/109 Kota Kemuning, which is a main road connecting the
'eastern side' of Kota Kemuning to the 'western side.'
This main road also leads to the main entrance of Kota Kemuning Hill park at
Jalan 31/109D, a public park.
This public road is being fenced up and two guard houses are being built on
the centre of the road by some bungalow and semi-detached residents. They
are turning this road a private road, and we would like to know if they are
they allowed to do this?
This action will deprive other residents and their families access to the
main entrance of Kota Kemuning Hill park.
This main road comes under the jurisdiction of the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA).
Residents and their children going to school will have to take another road,
which is further more congested during peak hours and more dangerous,
especially for senior citizens and students on bicycles, to reach their
destination if MBSA allows this road to be turned into a private domain.
For example, students living at Jalan 31/103 to Jalan 31/108 will not be
able use this shorter and safer route to get to Jalan 31/143 where the
schools are located.
Things are getting from bad to worse where pockets of bungalow and
semi-detached house owners are putting up barriers as and where they like,
including blocking out public playgrounds built by the developer and MBSA.
We are not talking about houses built within a gated community.
I hope the authorities will look into this and come up with a solution. Beef
up security, by all means, as the whole Kota Kemuning community must work
together on security, but to block public roads is going a bit too far.
