Management denies fee cut
offer
The Malay Mail 14/9/2005
KUALA LUMPUR: DwiTasik Management Services Sdn Bhd, which manages the Cemara
Apartments in Bandar Seri Permaisuri has never promised residents any
reduction in monthly maintenance fees.
Its assistant manager Peter Foo said the maintenance fees for the
low-medium-cost apartments and low-cost apartments are RM65 and RM55
respectively.
"Some owners lodged a complaint with the Housing and Local Government
Ministry in 2003. We replied to the Ministry with the details of the main-tenance
charges," said Foo in a faxed statement.
He said that in July 2003, the management offered to waive the late payment
interest on the maintenance charges as an incentive for owners to pay their
arrears.
"Many owners responded positively. It resulted in the maintenance arrears
being reduced from RM224,000 to RM73,000 . It is apparent that many have
accepted that the maintenance charges are reasonable and are satisfied with
the services provided,"
Foo was responding to a report in The Malay Mail on Aug 26, where the
residents of Block A and B of the apartments complained that the management
has done little to improve maintenance services at the apartments.
He said those who wanted a covered parking lot would have to pay a premium,
whereas no charges are imposed for the open parking lots.
"Buyers who wanted a covered parking lot should have chosen those units that
come with it. The management has no authority over the allocation of the
owners' parking lots,"
On the height of the corridor parapet, Foo explained the wall was built in
accordance with plans approved by the authorities.
“The management has disallowed the installation of grilles by owners at the
corridor area as access is needed to read the individual unit water meters."
