Pantai Hillpark folk upset
over security
Malay Mail 21/7/2005
Residents of phase 2 Pantai Hillpark condominiums are worried for their
safety after one of their cars was broken into yesterday.
Car owner R. Rajamanikam, 51, found his car window shattered when he wanted
to leave for work.
Rajamanikam said he could not understand how such an incident could occur
when the carpark was supposed to be under surveillance by security guards
round the clock.
“I don’t believe that a thief could break the window and take my briefcase,
sunglasses, coins, international passport and dismantle my CD player
unnoticed. Where were the guards?” he asked.
NOT SAFE AT ALL: Rajamanikam assessing his losses after he found his car,
left at the condominium carpark, broken into yesterday.
“When I bought a unit here, I expected it to be a safe place for me and my
family. But looks like I was wrong,” he added.
He estimated his losses at more than RM4,000. Rajamanikam said he was upset
with the management for not showing concern for the safety of the residents.
“When I told them about what happened to my car, they told me the person in
charge wasn’t around at that time,” he said. He said the management staff
have the same attitude when his house was almost broken into a few months
ago.
Another resident, E. Siva, 24 said he too does not feel safe leaving his car
at the basement carpark. “There have been numerous occasions when I noticed
that the guards were not stationed. I sometimes come back in the wee hours
and I don’t see any security guard there,” he said.
The management could not be contacted for comments. |
