Court sets aside 12 guards' remand order

Petaling Jaya: The Shah Alam High Court yesterday set aside and reversed a 10-day remand order on 12 security guards by the Kajang magistrate's court last month.

They were employees of Venice Hill Management Corporation Sdn Bhd who were arrested by Kajang police on June 21 and remanded under the Criminal Procedure Code for wrongful restraint the next day.

On the same day, an application for revision (appeal) was made to the Shah Alam High Court and the matter was fixed for hearing on July 11and continued to yesterday.

After hearing submissions from counsel P. Uthayakumar and DPP Mohamed Iskandar; Judge Datuk Mohd Ideres Mohd Rapee set aside and reversed the remand order.
