KAJANG: Residents of Taman Desa Surada and Sungai Ramal can now heave a sigh
of relief.
After living in uncertainty without certificates of fitness since 2001, they
can now apply for the elusive CF as its sewage pond and sewerage system has
been repaired. The Government had spent RM2.4 million to repair and upgrade
the system under a special fund from the Housing and Local Government Ministry,
and work at the low-cost housing project was completed last June 1.
Bangi State Assemblyman, Amran Kasimin, said the completion would enable
the house owners to apply for CF from the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj).
"As the developer had abandoned the housing project, the residents can
be represented by a residents' association," he said.
"Although there were still minor problems like damaged roads and broken
drains, the council will step in to provide proper garbage collection and
streetlight maintenance."
Amran, who is also a MPKj councillor, said he will ask the Selangor Government
to provide additional allocation to improve the living environment.
Amran said this at a mini carnival held in conjunction with the completion
of Surau Al-Mujahidin in the housing estate.
Surau Al-Mujahidin chairman, Shukor Atan, said the surau was built with
an allocation from the Selangor Religious Department while the internal fittings
and furniture were donated by well-wishers from Sungai Ramal and Bandar Baru
Bangi.
