House owners receive CFs for their homes
14/06/2005 Malay Mail

KAJANG, SELANGOR, June 13

After 12 years of waiting, 200 Taman Sri Intan low-cost house owners finally received certificates of fitness (CFs) for their houses.

The CFs were issued after the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) agreed to waive several conditions.

Serdang MP Datuk Yap Pian Hon said the council had delayed issuing the CFs as the developer had failed to meet the conditions set by the council.

“The residents moved in after the developer delivered vacant possession to them. But as there was no CF they were denied services like garbage collection and street lights maintenance which are provided by the council.”

Yap said this was unfair to the residents and he had lobbied the council to rectify the situation.

Yap said this after visiting a newly constructed surau in Taman Sri Intan. The RM100,000 for the surau was allocated by the Prime Minister’s Department.

Yap has agreed to obtain an allocation for basic facilities not provided by the developer like a playground and a football field.
