SHAH ALAM: A prominent developer in Selangor is being investigated
by the state Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) for giving RM20mil worth
of his company’s shares to a senior officer of the Selangor
Agriculture Development Corporation (PKPS).
The senior officer is currently under remand by the ACA on
allegations that he received kickbacks for helping the developer
obtain approval for the conversion of agriculture land.
PKPS is a fully owned company of the state government.
A state ACA source said most of the developer’s directors and staff
who had knowledge of the transfer of the RM20mil worth of shares to
the PKPS senior officer had been summoned to give their statements.
“The ACA moved in following complaints that the company did not
obtain approval from its board of directors to transfer the shares
to the senior officer.
“ACA officers have also obtained a warrant to search the senior
officer’s home.
“The developer’s accounts are being scrutinised to identify others
who had had a hand in the case,” the source added.
It is learnt that the ACA wants to question a director of the
company who is currently abroad.
The ACA is also investigating the developer for allegedly giving a
luxury home in Shah Alam to the senior officer.
