Housebuyer duped by sales pitch

KUALA LUMPUR: When senior corporate officer Chang Siau Keng was
scouting for a home recently, he was approached by a salesman for
Taman Mas Sepang in Sepang who told him housebuyers would be allowed
free entry to the clubhouse and with unlimited access to its
facilities.However, after signing the Sales
and Purchase agreement, he was asked to pay RM1,800 as membership
fee and Chang, 31, was left fuming.
Some of the facilities at the yet-to-be-opened
clubhouse are squash and badminton, indoor games and a gymnasium.
"I am so frustrated with the company for its
unethical sales pitch," said Chang.
When he contacted the company, he was told that
the salesman had resigned. A spokesman told The Malay Mail that it
was due to a misunderstanding between the salesman and Chang.
"The privilege stated in the contract is only for
entry to the clubhouse and not for the use of facilities there," he
said, adding that the company had wanted to settle the matter
amicably. |
