KUALA LUMPUR: Sleep tight and let the bugs bite. This is the scenario at Juara Suria Apartments in Taman Bukit Belimbing,
Balakong near here, according to the residents.
They said termites were feasting away on their nyatoh furniture, parquet
floorings, the wooden beams holding the roof and the ceilings.
The ceilings of 15 units on the ninth floor of Block A are in danger of
collapsing.
Residents' association chairman, Halim Yatim, said despite having written
to the developer, nothing has been done regarding the matter.
Serdang MP Datuk Yap Pian Hon said he had written to the Ministry of
Housing and Local Government, the Selangor Housing and Property Board and
the developer on the issue.
Rosli Rojah, 31, and his wife who live with their two- year-old baby are
afraid the roof may collapse any time.
"At the residents meeting, many occupants have voiced their displeasure
that the developer has not done anything about it," he said.
Gan Zhi Hao, 20, said that the apartment owner had spent over RM3,000 to
overcome the infestation, but termites still kept trailing back into the
unit. |
