KUALA LUMPUR, Apr 11: Will he ever get to live in his
dream house?
This question has haunted Vinodh Aravindan, 38, since 2002 after a
developer informed him that the project in Puchong in which he bought a
house in 2000 had not taken off.
As a trade off, the developer, Talam Corporation, offered Vinodh a unit in
another scheme called Saujana Puchong, being developed by the company.
Vinodh agreed and was told that his double-storey house would be completed
in September last year.
However, till now, there is no sign of the keys being delivered.
“I wrote to Talam twice in September and October last year to enquire
about the project. They replied my second letter saying that the project
is still on, but why isn’t there any progress?,” said Vinodh, adding that
no definite date was given to him.
In the letter, he said, the developer also mentioned that he can claim for
compensation caused by the delay.
“All I wanted is an assurance that the project is still on and that I will
be getting my house soon. This is because I am paying the house loan and
don’t want to be told later that I won’t be getting my house.
“It was inconvenient for me as I had to cancel the first loan and reapply
for the Saujana Puchong unit.
“When I learnt that my house in Saujana Puchong is not ready yet, my wife
and I bought a house in USJ8.
“I hope the developer can at least inform us, the house buyers, of the
situation and not keep us in the dark.”
When contacted, a Talam spokesman told The Malay Mail that the project is
still on and that it will be ready by the end of this year. |
