SOME 321 households from Kampung Chim Lee in Kepong are set to move into
new Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) flats at Taman Intan Baiduri after coming
to terms with developer Rimbunan Melati Sdn Bhd recently.
The households are expected to move into their new units within thirty days
starting from April 9.
The terms agreed to include a maximum RM12,600 discount on the RM42,000 low-cost
apartment, free accommodation at Taman Intan Baiduri PPR pending completion
of their homes, RM1,000 shifting allowance and priority when buying Rimbunan
Melati properties.
Kepong MCA Public Service and Government Affairs Bureau chairman Yee Poh Ping
said several factories located in Kampung Chim Lee had been given until April
30 to shift out, with RM10,000 paid as compensation.
He added that about 279 households, 52 factories, two temples and six vegetable
farms had been left out of a census conducted by City Hall at the area earlier.
“We appeal to City Hall and the developer to inspect, verify and certify this,”
said Yee at a recent lot-drawing ceremony held at Kepong Entrepre-neurial
Park.
Yee said households with senior citizens and handicapped family members who
wanted flats on the lower floors would need a letter stating their illness
or disability from a government hospital by today.
The letter can be submitted at the developer's office at Kampung Chim Lee.
Deputy Home Affairs Minister Datuk Tan Chai Ho was also present at the event.
