WAITING for nearly three decades to obtain strata title for a property is a long time. But, to search for owners so that the Land Office can issue them their titles can take just as long.

This is the situation at the Lucky Garden Complex in Bangsar, a place that houses, among others a supermarket and several bakeries.

Located along Persiaran Ara Kiri, the run-down building pales in comparison to its trendy neighbours.

“We can't even give the building a new coat of paint yet until some 60-odd owners have collected their strata titles,'' said Perbadanan Pengurusan Kompleks Lucky Garden managing agent P. Periasundram.

“Even if they did collect their titles, an Annual General Meeting has to be held to discuss the service fee,'' he said.

Periasundram, who owns three units at the complex for the past 15 years, said he had managed to track down only 20 owners since January.

“We need the co-operation of the remaining owners as the property's developer has gone into liquidation,'' he said. Periasundram urged them to contact him at 03-2092 5860 so that the issue can be resolved and the premises made more presentable.
